| The aftermath of the Hilton Hotel bombing in Egypt |
Just days after returning home, nearly every place our team had visited were bombed by Palestinian terrorists. 34 people were killed (including 12 Israelis) and 171 others were injured.
The Hilton Hotel in Taba that had been our rendezvous spot, was completely destroyed by a car-bomb.
A camp-site where I had slept, was torn apart by explosions.
At first the shock of the news really left me stunned. But I soon realized it was the grace of God that led us to those spots and to those people, to share the Good News of Yeshua. Talk about a divine appointment. God in his mercy and love wanted those people to hear that there was a route to eternal life, that there was a way to forgiveness of sins and peace with God.
I could see, after the fact, why God had us go there.

| The persecuted and terrorized in Nigeria |
But this time, we're going knowing that violence is already occurring. In the past few weeks, hundreds of Nigerian Christians have been killed. Hundreds of churches have been destroyed. Thousands of Nigerian Christians, fearing for their lives, have fled their homes. (READ MORE ABOUT THE VIOLENCE IN NIGERIA HERE)
There is a genocide going on, that the world is paying no attention to. Nigerians are being slaughtered by Islamic radicals. And the question is...should we still go?
We've been planning this trip for months. Ron has been to Africa several times and has taken several Israeli Messianic Jews with him, in fulfillment of prophecy:
For out of Zion shall go forth the law,
And the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. (Isaiah 2:3)
The tickets are purchased, the itinerary is planned. But...now there is this violence. There is very real danger. There are travel warnings to avoid Nigeria. So, should we cancel?
Some in our group have opted out. Our original group of nearly 15 is now down to 7. And despite the possibility of danger...we have no plans to call off our trip!
If not now, when? If not us, who?
If I had known there would be bombings in Egypt, would I have still gone? In hindsight I can see God's perfect timing.
Should I now doubt that this trip to Nigeria is also God's merciful way of bringing his soul-saving Gospel to the remote villages of a largely forgotten nation?
The main purpose of this blog is to ask for your prayers.
Please pray for the people of Nigeria. Please pray for protection for the believers there, and for the innocent's caught in the cross-fire,
Please pray for the Muslims carrying out this horrific violence. In the video at the end of this blog, you'll hear an awesome story from one of the Messianic Jews who went with Ron to Nigeria in 2009. He tells the story of Muslim man who ran on-stage during one of their outreaches and renounced Islam!
We are going in, believing for more such testimonies! Please pray for the salvation of the people of Nigeria!
We'd also be grateful if you'd consider partnering with us financially. Some in our group are still not at 100% of their needed funds. To make an on-line donation, please follow this link: DONATE HERE.
Also, be sure to keep checking back on this blog next week. We will be sending regular updates from Nigeria. We hope you'll come along on this journey with us 'virtually' and 'prayerfully'.
Thank you for reading and for caring.
He shall judge between the nations,
And rebuke many people;
They shall beat their swords into plowshares,
And their spears into pruning hooks;
Nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
Neither shall they learn war anymore. (Isaiah 2:4)
