Persecution in Arad, Israel

On Tuesday March 1, 2011 hundreds of ultra-orthodox Jews in Arad, Israel are expected to stage a protest against the Messianic Jews in that community.

Their specific target is a widow named Polly, who has 3 children of her own and who also takes in foster children.

The believers in Arad have faced violent persecution for years, and yet they have bravely stayed in that community (home to the largest orthodox 'yeshiva' [school] in Israel) and continue to shine the line of Yeshua in a very dark place.

Please stand with the persecuted believers in Israel!  Please pray for Polly, the Beckfords, and all the many believers there in Arad!

Thank you.

  1. The demonstration at Polly's house has been postponed temporarily. According to the police (which gives permission) it will take place in the next week or so.

  2. I support those Haredim. I would also be mad if my religion was being destroyed.

  3. What's more important? A man's religion—or truth?

  4. I'm sorry you feel that way anonymous (March3)"I support those Haredim. I would also be mad if my religion was being destroyed."
What makes you think that their religion is being destroyed? if anything their religion is being fulfilled. And the Messianic community certainly isn't being threatening or abusive. There's no excusing the intimidation seen in these clips.
Freedom of belief is a basic human right. And the right to share your beliefs in a non-confrontational manner should be respected.

  5. Oh ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in your hearts and ears, you do always resist the Holy Ghost as your fathers did,so do you .
Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted ?
Once the scales are removed and they can see things will be as they always have been .
pray the Holy Spirit will open the hearts of these blind men

  6. The Orthodox who persecute Messianic believers will never again be morally justified in complaining of persecution done to them. Yahweh is showing them that they have the same ugly sin in their own hearts. Thousands of years of persecution against the Jewish people have taught them nothing, for when the shoe is on their foot to treat others well, they take it off and throw it others. Hypocrites!

  7. The very ground the Orthodox stood on to curse you belongs to Yeshua, it is his own possession. Israel is the life nourishing navel of the world, and thus the most contested ground on earth. We are with you in prayer from Signal Mountain, TN, USA. May He be your shield and buckler. He is commander of heaven's armies, and a warrior of fire who surrounds you. The hate is for Him, and as you share in His sufferings, you will also share in His glory.
